Uncovering the Wounded Healer
This month has packed a punch to the solar plexus.
I got to say both the full moon in Aries illuminating the depths of the watery shadows within me and this month’s energies of feeling the heart, have stayed true to their promises. There’s a whole lot of wearing my heart on my sleeve the last couple of weeks feeling a wide range of emotions that come up around life’s changes.
Reflecting on my time in the Inner Tribe and the Healing Light group and its significance to me... at first it started as a desire to help support others through the fear of Covid, to bring connection where connection was lost, and to spread a little love and light where darkness crept in and lift others up so they can walk more confidently into their day.
I poured my heart and soul in to helping others. Yah, you can say I’m a people pleaser. I see it and I’m working on it! Supporting you through the anxiety, the heart ache, the disconnect, the stress, the breakups, the pain of lose, the shame, the guilt, through the diagnosis, treatments and recoveries, fed my soul and gave me purpose. Sometimes hours of free work given to cancer patients... why… because my driving force is always to help bring balance to body mind and spirit to those that don’t have it.
Taking the Detour
There’s no wrong answer here. We all have free will to choose the path we are on and we have free will to choose when we step off it and swing to the left or right of where we originally were. In the now, the path is still the path of NOW only the perception of where we started from gives us the “reality” in our minds of how far we’ve come.
I’m reflecting on my own situation today as I write this. So, this is more of a personal journal posting.
Why have I chosen to take the steps to the left off my original starting point in the last few weeks.
Where’s the resistance in me that I made the choices I have even though my intuition was screaming inside my head to DON’T go that way!? It was showing me the way, “Choose this option instead which will take you fully back into alignment”.
I did NOT listen.
The Reiki Journey
As I step into a new season, one of change, growth, abundance & flow, I reflect on the upcoming training schedule and the journey of each new student as they embark on their own reiki journeys. It excites me to spread this modality. I take this beautiful gift of Reiki Master Teacher quite passionately. I see the journey they are on because I’ve also walked that path. It’s transformational if they want it to be.
It’s a journey of change. For each student learning Reiki, no matter what level they are at, it’s more than just knowledge gained, but if they choose not to do the work, then it’ll only remain as knowledge. The true beauty of Reiki lies in working with it afterwards. The truest form of transformational change occurs when they can sit with themselves with Reiki supporting them and walk through the pain that lies within. There lies the growth. Reiki will not be the magic pill to fix your life. It will not be the magic pill to heal you. The magic of Reiki lies within you, only if you are open to actually walking the path yourself. You need to embody reiki energy and its teachings and then the healing on all levels will follow. The change. The growth. The abundance. The flow.
Am I Healed or just Distracted?
I’ve seen this quote of late and wanted to write about it. Let me know our own thoughts in the comments. Namaste. This is great question to ask yourself periodically! Both of these states of mind can feel the same in some ways but of course there are some very distinct differences as well.
Cinderella
Breaking free from the “I have nothing of value to say” limiting belief brought with it a Cinderella moment.
Growing up feeling as if I have nothing to say of value presented many challenges in my adulthood and leaked over in my role as a contributor in the work force. My belief kept bringing the same situations into my life to validate what I told myself. My earliest post graduate job made me feel like I had no value as a geologist in the company except a person who only made the morning coffee for the management team (and not very good coffee at that!! Lol 😆). I kept bringing those situations into my life again and again. I kept going deeper and deeper into my thoughts and bringing my fears to each situation.
A divine moment would come in 2007 when my mentor, Reiki Master Teacher, asked if I would ever teach Reiki to students.
Invisible Walls
My Reiki teaching, “Just for today, do not anger”, was difficult at times.
I was that angry person. I was angry at myself and the world around me.
To the outside world, I looked happy, smile on my face and said all the right things. Anyone who didn’t know me well, didn’t know what was brewing beneath. I felt like I was simmering in a hot pot of anger waiting to explode. I was snappy, I felt numb to my emotions, I felt alone.
I knew I couldn’t continue...
What is… Reiki?
Usui Reiki (Ray-Key) was discovered by Mikao Usui in Japan in 1922. The word Reiki comes from two Japanese words meaning Universal (rei) and life energy (ki); Universal Life Energy. Ki is the electrical energy that creates the body and determines the state of health of our body. The state of our Ki is affected by our limiting beliefs, negative thoughts and feelings, past traumas and experiences.
